law mashup post politics technologyPublished February 1, 2010 at 12:23 pm No CommentsI will be presenting at the Gov2.0LA conference at BlankSpaces in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 6, 2010. I will be joining lawyer Lisa Borodkin and CitySourced’s Kurt Daradics on a panel entitled “Legal Implications of Gov 2.0.”

Session Description:
“Government 2.0 means more citizen participation, but what laws are implicated when citizens share information on government-sponsored websites? How can Government 2.0 web tools be built in ways that address concerns over ownership of user-generated content, information privacy and the uses of the data that citizens provide? What can government learn from the growing pains of private sector companies like Facebook and Twitter about the rules and ethics that should be applied when building and maintaining interactive platforms?
Guiding a conversation to address these questions, panelists Lisa Borodkin, Kurt Daradics and Christina Gagnier will collaborate with session participants on a wiki that incorporates legal issues, core values and tools into a set of best practices for Government 2.0 platforms.”
